Landscape workshops are an effective way to see some of Tuscany’s most beautiful locations while also improving your photography skills. Every year, I lead small group and individual workshops & tours in some of the most beautiful locations across the Tuscany region.
On weekdays during the full spring and autumn seasons, I offer three, four, and five-day landscape photography workshops packages.

Would you like to spend a few days in picturesque Tuscany and refine your ability as a photographer whilst capturing some of the world’s most exemplary landscapes?
Join one of my Tuscany photography workshops and tours to experience the delight of capturing serene rural scenes in all the provinces. Additionally, you’ll have access to renowned “Borghi” like San Quirico, Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, and Montalcino, all of which present both amateurs and pros with distinctive shooting options.
Workshop information
My goal is to give you every chance to capture images and refine your technique with expert on location instruction. This is accomplished through the use of my extensive knowledge of these compelling locations, coaching you to get the most out of your photography.
I offer a fun and relaxed atmosphere, as well as an excellent environment, in which you will create incredible captures and memorable moments while developing and exploring slow photography in Tuscany.

Photography skills you’ll learn
- Practical, easy-to-implement and ‘non-destructive’ workflows that begin by dialling in our optimal camera settings and capturing images in raw file format.
- How to assess and evaluate all lighting factors, relative to the components, of the final image you wish to create. Using PhotoPills on location and in planning phase.
- How to select the appropriate aperture, using depth of field correctly and giving you full control over the required amount of sharpness in your images.
- How to confidently evaluate and select shutter speeds that can either freeze or accentuate motion, taking full control of movement in your image.
- The art of composition, including how to approach an environment & surveying locations to create interesting images from the scenery.
- Import, select and non destructive image editing workflow. Essential three copy image backup. Imaging software introduction Photo Mechanic, Adobe Bridge & Photoshop.

A visual feast for photographers
Tuscany is located on the west coast of Italy and is a popular place to learn and improve photography. If you have ever visited then you will see why.
With such a diverse range of landscapes, beautiful cities, olive groves, vineyards, hill towns and frescoed churches from north to south as well as east to west, Tuscany is a visual feast for photographers.
A diverse landscape
Surrounded by the Apennines and washed by the Tyrrhenian Sea, Tuscany is characterised by the incredible variety of its territory: sea, mountains, hills and plains. The rolling hills of Chianti, the long beaches of Versilia, the white marble quarries of Carrara in the Apuan Alps, the Crete Senesi between Siena and Montepulciano, the Balze of Volterra and the wild Maremma. These are just some of the most admired landscapes of Tuscany.
Classic Tuscan Landscapes
Tuscany is famous for its rolling hills dotted with cypress trees lining the hilltops and leading up to the classic red-roofed farmhouses. The landscape is often interspersed with layers of mist leading off to distant mountains, especially at sunrise.
There is much more to Tuscany though. On my workshops we will explore both the classic views and some hidden ones too.
The Cities
It’s not all about the landscape, though. Amid the rolling hills and mountains lie some of Italy’s finest and most fascinating cities and towns.
First of all Florence with its Duomo and Ponte Vecchio, then Siena with Piazza del Campo and Pisa with its famous Leaning Tower and Baptistery. And then the many hundreds of small medieval villages and castles dotting the entire Tuscan landscape, including San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Montepulciano and Cortona.
